YOUR ROLE
As an assistant to one of our project managers, you will support them in their various tasks related to managing a hydropower plant project, including development (technical studies, obtaining permits, etc.) and construction (site monitoring, implementation of environmental and social programs, etc.). By the end of your internship, you should be able to understand all aspects of implementing a hydropower project (technical, permitting, financial).

YOUR RESPONSABILITIES
Responsibilities in Project Development Phase
Ensure cost estimation and preliminary sizing of the project
Coordinate local services necessary for feasibility studies (Topography, Hydrology, Geotechnics, Environmental, etc.)
Write or oversee the drafting of prefeasibility reports
Establish the project implementation timeline
Oversee all design phases
Consult, select, and coordinate external engineering firms
Coordinate the internal engineering team
Monitor the obtaining of permits in collaboration with local authorities
Responsibilities in Construction Phase
Coordinate the definition of the specifications and consult with various contractors
Lead the analysis of contractors' bids
Implement and manage the execution of contracts
Ensure the quality of deliverables, budgets, and deadlines
Define technical specifications for various studies
Review study reports
Negotiate and draft contracts in collaboration with the Project Manager, CFO, and legal team
Communicate with local authorities, partners, technical or financial partners, banks, etc.
Cross-Functional Missions
Under the supervision of the Technical Director, you will participate in improving the following tools based on your project's needs:
Project cost estimation tool
Preliminary dimensioning tool for civil engineering structures
Productivity calculation tool
Head loss calculation tool
Site monitoring tool (material consumption, inventory management, etc.)
YOUR PROFILE
Education: Engineering School
Software Skills: Microsoft Office, strong Excel skills (VBA, macros), Autocad, QGIS, Python
Languages: Fluent in English (written and spoken)
